Dearest Family,
Soon we will all be breaking bread at the 8th Young Family Reunion at the Mountainside Lodge, where it started years ago. Three who had dinner with us that first evening now sit at the Lord’s Table. As we break bread we will remember those and others.
We will continue the reunion where it all began. What traditions will be relived and new memories will be created?
First, there is the quilt that Sue Puffenbarger loving made. That creation of love was nearly three years in the making. The winning family could hardly believe it when their name was called. I will treasure the new ornaments from the Christmas ornament exchange. Each Christmas when I hang them I reminisce about family reunions past. I love it when we sing “Silent Night” also. And what about Talent Night? Well, some have talent and I’m not sure what to say about the others. Whatever, it was a great night. Did you enjoy the chipped beef? After all what would be a family reunion without chipped beef. Of course, there was the traditional baseball game. That was a fun day and the barbeque that night was wonderful.
This year our photos will be done by Photos by Dill, Inc. You can check out their website,PhotosbyDill.com Photos cost $38 or $42. Photos will be in reunion t-shirts. The t-shirts were inspired by the first t-shirt. Christmas is coordinated by Jeanette Atkinson. Please bring an ornament for the exchange. Please limit one ornament per person. If you have 3 people in your family, then you can bring 3 ornaments.
The quilt drawing will be following the Christmas celebration. All adults, single or couple, that haven’t won a quilt before and are attending the Reunion are eligible for the drawing. Sue Puffenbarger has spent many hours creating this labor of love.
Yvonne has made wonderful calendars for us. It is a labor of love for her that she shares with us. Glenda and Dianne have been assembling and checking them. You will receive your copy at the Reunion.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Young
